Welcome to Shafton Grange
Shafton Grange, is a refreshing change from the humdrum of everday life. Shafton Grange Guest House and Lipizzaner Stud redefines the term Guest House. Built in 1852, the house which is surrounded by park-like gardens, is set on a 52-hectare farm. If you are after a unique experience, Shafton Grange is the place for you.
Crowned Crane
Settled in the branches of a dead oak tree in the pristine gardens of the Shafton Grange Guesthouse, one can get up close and personal
with a pair of crowned cranes. These are non migratory birds and can be seen all year round. Now an endangered bird due to its ever diminishing habitat, this bird feeds on insects, lizards, small fish as well as small eggs from aquatic animals. Bring your cameras and video cameras and experience one of Africa’s truly magnificent birds.
