Sara and Muvo
Sarah Wager and Muvo Ngcobo are both practising Sangoma’s who work together on Shafton Grange.
Sarah started her healing practice as a Celtic Shaman before being called to be a Sangoma; she now works through both the Sangoma and Celtic traditions.
Muvo's family has had the calling for generations and he continues to follow the call of his ancestors in uplifting the Sangoma tradition.
A Sangoma is a traditional healing practitioner, or Shaman, whose role is to act as a channel for the ancestors to heal, counsel, and spiritually uplift the people who come to see them and the land and community they live in. The Sangoma tradition is not a religion but a Shamanic way of life.
Sarah and Muvo’s work involves:
• Readings/Ukubhula
This is the throwing of bones which is the traditional method of hearing from the ancestors for guidance during consultation;
• Medicines/muthi,
• Sangoma ceremony,
• Workshops based on self empowerment through the ancestral tradition of both Sangoma and Celtic Shamanism,
• Group work with people from overseas who wish to know more about the Zulu spiritual tradition, sacred land healing and talks about Shamanic tradition.
Sarah and Muvo bring a spiritual peace to Shafton and offer insight in to the world of spirit and the ancestors that is both enlightening and fascinating.
They have constructed, under guidance and in harmony with the land, a stone circle for healing, ceremonies and meditation and have constructed a steaming hut for ritual cleansing.
Sarah and Muvo welcome all who have a genuine quest to find out more about who they are and the role that spirit and ancestors have to play in their lives.
